Should I take Drupal 7 or Drupal 8 Training?

I recently received a set of questions from a government client regarding taking Drupal 7 or Drupal 8 training. Below is a version of my response to this customer:

When it comes to Drupal 7 or Drupal 8, you've come to the right place, we are the #1 Drupal Training and Consulting firm for government and I am pleased to follow up on your questions below:

Is there a Hello Drupal Seminar scheduled in the near future?

Hello Drupal is a free seminar that introduces users to Drupal 7.  We no longer offer Hello Drupal as a free public seminar but instead recommend the free seminar focused on Drupal 8 which is called Ready, Set, Drupal 8!  The seminars are very similar and are designed to introduce users to the concepts of Drupal, how it is structured and to provide a hands-on environment for getting your first site setup. Ready Set Drupal 8 is typically scheduled monthly.  Get alerts for when new free or paid classes are added by signing up for our weekly or monthly training notifications (here on the right): http://go.figleaf.com/events

I'm new to Drupal, should I take the Acquia Drupal 7 or 8 Training?

It depends on which version your agency is using in 2016 and 2017. Version 8 was released in early 2016 but that doesn't mean that every agency is automatically moving to Drupal 8 quickly.  At Drupal GovCon I spoke to a number of developers from different agencies who won't be moving to Drupal 8 until late 2017 or 2018.  Your best bet is to check with your team.  If you are doing a new implementation you'll likely want to start with Drupal 8.

Is there a volume discount if I take multiple classes?

Many of our classes offer GSA Schedule pricing which provides agencies with some savings.  We also offer private training which is the most affordable way to go if you have 6-12 people.  Private training can be at your office or in our Dupont Circle Washington, DC training facility.

Do you accept government purchase card for payment?

Yes we accept government purchase cards and government purchase orders.  You can signup online for any class to reserve your seat in class.  You will receive an email confirmation with the payment instructions.  If you have a government purchase card available you can provide that information securely when you register or you can follow up to provide payment information after your seat is reserved.

Finally, please feel free to download our Hitting Homeruns with Drupal 8 White Paper. We are a full service firm offering training and consulting.  Our team recently launched the new Department of Interior and Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement public websites in Drupal and we just launched the new WMATA Metro website in Beta.  Our team provides UI/UX and Responsive Theming, Drupal Implementation, Module Development, Hosting and Support.

We are a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) in business for 20 years.  Visit our main website to learn more or call us directly at 202-797-7711 and we will be delighted to assist you.
